The Co-op Pioneer Awards are a yearly event designed to celebrate the core tenets of everything the longstanding movement stands for. With an array of awards for colleagues, stores, members and suppliers, the show is a highlight for everyone linked with the Co-op.
The brief for this pitch was centred around a more literal application of the term ‘Pioneer’. While the initial name refers to the original group of co-operatives from Rochdale, this year it was meant to inspire and educate attendees with a globe-trotting experience, explaining the impact of the Co-op and co-operatives around the world.
A new lockup was required with us deciding upon a compass motif, anchoring the drive for co-operatives to ‘lead the way’. An array of 3D landmarks were recreated in the low-poly style, each dressed in chrome and sleek metallic black sheen to support the global theme, helping to create visual anchors and interest while maintaining a glamorous and premium look and feel.
Keeping a balance between the required glitz of the event and the concept of international immersion was key, influencing all elements from invites (digital boarding cards) to directional and background footage/animation that would surround the event.
Each section of the overall experience would be broken up into a series of continents, with various experiential activities, drinks, food and games available native or themed to each area.
