Brief

Following the rebrand of the University of Greater Manchester from it’s original Bolton University title, it was decided that a centralised hub of collected contemporary and heritage-based culture was required to help highlight and celebrate the good work undertaken by the university, it’s student body and the broader local community.

Once the pitch for funding was won, work was underway on a fresh sub-brand and website. Given the broad mix of user capabilities, accessibility was as key to the overall approach as impact. This helped guide us towards a vibrant suite of colours, each denoting their own sectors; Events, Performances, Heritage etc, underpinned with bold typography.

The final website houses a swathe of footage and written work from local artists, accessible through an interactive map, pin-pointing where each piece hails from, providing context and a sense of home for users.
